The CAPISAR Competency Exam sets a standard for professional skill. Though you may reference written texts and materials, the exam assumes you professional-level expertise and is timed. To complete the exam in the allotted six hours, you must be able to synthesize quickly and have a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles and advanced techniques of astrology.
Questions are a combination of true/false, multiple choice, short-answer and in-depth essay. Areas covered include the history of astrology, basic astronomy as applied to astrology, symbolism, knowledge of chart calculations, forecasting skills (including secondary progressions, return charts, transits, eclipses and lunations), synastry and relationships, including chart comparison, family patterns, miscellaneous relationships and group dynamics.ISAR’s Competency Exam is recognized worldwide as the most comprehensive evaluation of astrological knowledge.
